Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 19, 2017 10:44 am Hiya, My wife and I have just moved into our new house in the Vale estate in teh Perth Metro area. We have just had a guy from the Gas company at the door saying that they will need to lift our driveway pavers to allow them to connect the house accross the road to the gas mainframe, House across the road is currently under construction. Apparently the main gas line runs down ours side of the street. Not good, we obviously don't want to have our new driveway lifted. What is our position on refusing them permission to do this? The lot next to us is currently empty and I am unsure why they can't connect there, would be simpler surely. We are obviously worried our driveway will not be out of action for a while and won't be put back as it was. Thanks Will Re: Gas company wanting to lift driveway. 2May 19, 2017 1:42 pm Which part of driveway, is it crossing, footpath, your land, or both, I would take tons of pictures and if they do, don't rely on just their word. Maybe your neighbour has said no also, you should be compensated also, as these guys charge like wounded bulls and don't do anything for nothing, why should you? Re: Gas company wanting to lift driveway. 4May 21, 2017 2:37 pm gargoil13 Thanks for the advise, pictures is good idea. They haven't specified if it is on the crossover or on our land, we dont have a footpath. A crossover is the driveway that crosses over the footpath outside your house. You do not have a crossover on your property. Your post makes no sense. 4 10821 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black. The problem is how close can I build to the gas hot water unit? Will I be able to build around it and be… 0 20224 you need a fridgie to answer but I would think you vac the whole system then add gas if you have a leak, unless it is new install with the gas already loaded, in that case… 1 3655 |
