Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 08, 2017 9:24 am I have a tile roof on a cream brick veneer house of just on 13.5 squares - tiles are just over 50 years old and are de-laminating and / or cracking randomly. The pitch is just under 20 degrees I got a quote for a full tile roof replacement - one was $17320 and the other $20,650. Both quotes were for fully glazed Monier Wunderlich tiles. The cheaper of the two quotes included gutter replacement and facia board aluminium cladding and both quotes include sarking. The second quote also included sarking but no new gutters and no facia cladding. I also got a quote for a Colour Bond roof replacement and was quoted $13,420. This also included sarking, new gutters and facia cladding. I have been under the impression that a new tile roof replacement would be cheaper than a Colour Bond job. Is this the case or just the case when the tiles are random glaze or no glaze tiles rather than full glaze tiles? Questions: (i) As a percentage, how much cheaper would a new random glaze tile roof be over a full glaze tile roof ? (ii) What would be a reasonable cost to replace my tile roof with Monier or Boral random glazed tiles, including new valley irons but no guttering and no facia cladding? I do not want Spanish tiles as none that I have seen fit the vintage of the house. (iii) Can anyone recommend reliable, fair and reputable roof replacement specialists in the Warragul (VIC) region ?
