Hi everyone
I'm wondering if anyone can help with a query re: old cement laundry twin tubs? We've had one half-buried in the garden, and I thought I'd make it into a pond or something, but I noticed it has a metallic rim which looks a bit like lead. It's soft and bluish-grey, and quite thin, a bit like lead flashing. Is this possible? Does anyone know if lead was used in this way, as a sort of protection against friction/water damage etc on the rim? I was going to just do one of those lead tests, but apparently they only work on paint - not on chunks of metal. If it's not lead, what kind of metal is it likely to be?
Any suggestions would be most welcome!
Thanks all,
