This is the Eastern side of my house extension.
I have a brick base wall & piers, and am setting up my RHS bearers and joists.
I have galvanized ant capping for the piers, and stripping for the base wall, at pier height.
The existing house has narrow galv stripping at the same height, which just enters the mortar enough to hold it in place.
The galv strips i have purchased are the full width of the brick, so that if i set them on the base wall, the mortar will rest entirely on the galv. i imagine this would impair the brick skin.
Do i need to cut the strips?
