Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 21, 2017 4:56 pm Hello sparkies, Is it possible to install a power point to the front of the block 15m from the house (meter box)? Is this too expensive to do? Our house hasn't been built yet so wondering if I should ask for this? The reason is we need a water pump and our water pipe which comes from a channel is at the front of the house. Cheers Re: Electrictians - getting power to the front of the block 2Jan 21, 2017 11:28 pm We did, we have had power put to the front next to our driveway, with a powerpoint and light. We did this as the meter box is on the small side of our land with a driveway then the rest of our land - if we didn't do it now it would have been very hard and costly to try and run power to the main front of our house. Mainly we wanted to run more lighting later after we installed stairs - also the power points at the front have been really handy for Christmas lights and other things. The distance would have been about 10m for us as we had it laid across under the driveway so that saved wiring etc instead of across and then up to front of property. Again we did this so we don't have to worry about cables being anywhere when we dig our garden etc. The total cost for it was about $600 - it did require having a digger come in a dig trenches for it as it was a difficult area with steep land slope, driveway etc. I think he said if we didn't need the digger it would have been about $400. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Use a product like Equisol's Vitalise to clean the deck then coat with a penetrating timber oil.
