Good morning we have removed wallpaper from gyprock walls which were not prepped before hand and we have done our best but there are gouges in the walls that our plasterer says he cannot plaster over as he won't get a smooth finish for painting so recommends we rip the walls out and resheet. We are selling and would prefer not to have that expense. Any ideas? Textured paint we thought about but aren't sure. Help!!

I think that a new skim plaster coat over the entire wall is the best option.
Replacing plasterboard sheets may involve replacing skirtings, architraves and even require an electrician to remove and replace power points and light switches.
