Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 01, 2016 10:44 pm Hi everyone, Site newbies here looking for some information and help. My name is Matt and my wife is Shadhna. Just a little back ground information ... For the past 18months we have been trying to build a Granny flat in the backyard for my Dad to live in as my Mother ,who was Dads carer , recently passed away. My brother in law has been kind enough to take on the build project but with his work commitments and new child, time has been a huge factor. It's now upto me to chase up the final drawings/plans, but am not sure who to contact? What the Logan City council requires to give us the approval are as follows.. 1. Fully dimensioned site plan for plumbing approval? 2. A copy of the As-Constructed sewrage? 3. A copy of the site plan - a siting application and a build over or near infrastructure application may be applicable and will be determined when we have a site plan with location of granny flat? 4. A set of Architectural plans(that's full inside/bathroom/elevations)? We have most trades lined up, a draino/plumber ready to go, concreters, plasterers etc.. Insurances have been paid, Soil test has been carried out and slab designs have been drawn up. basically we are ready to build just waiting on council approvals Just not sure who does the last lot of drawings i.e. Draino / draftsman / architect?? Or me!! Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers Matt and Sha Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
