Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 20, 2016 2:41 pm Hey guys, I have been doing a few improvements to my house the past couple of months and have finally got to the job I have no idea how to approach. The front of my house is set up in a manner which has annoyed me since owning the house (first home and didn't notice it as a potential issue when purchasing). To enter the front door there is a decaying wooden deck that is raised roughly 30cm from ground level to reach the front door. They have installed a custom front door bracket and installed a short door so it can open without hitting the wood awning on the front. You then walk into the lounge room where the entry way is raised to match the outside height and then drops off on the sides about 30cm to get back down to ground level. Pretty much this is causing me all sorts of issues and want to get rid of the front decking, the inside raised platform and bring the front door down to ground level and then brick up the gap above the door. The problem is I have no idea what kind of tradie would deal with the door and brickwork. The rest of the job I can do by myself it is just the job I require assistance with. Would I need to split it up into two separate jobs or is there a tradie that could do the lot. My issue is seeing as it's the main entrance into the house I kind of want it done in one go so I don't go days without a secure front door. Any help would be appreciated thanks.
