Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Floor plan ,best solution 28Nov 23, 2016 8:59 am I sense quite a bit of negativity so I won't even bother to repeat that ALL windows and doors will be double glazed. Hopefully ,when the building is finished , I can post some pictures to show you just how dark and cold my house is. Re: Floor plan ,best solution 29Nov 23, 2016 2:25 pm Sorry Jelena, Im just trying to help. I want you to get the best house you can thats all. Im sure it will be great! Re: Floor plan ,best solution 30Nov 24, 2016 1:02 am I agree the family bathroom layout could be improved. Also maybe add a study, I'm sure a working farm has lots of paperwork! For the record, I also think it's a shame to have the layout not in a good passive design. That front loungeroom will be heaven in Winter. Recently moved to a 60's home in need of some improvement! http://s797.photobucket.com/user/leenii ... ch%20House Old house: http://s797.photobucket.com/albums/yy25 ... loo/House/ Re: Floor plan ,best solution 31Nov 24, 2016 7:14 am Thanks leni. How would you improve family bathroom? I must add, this bathroom is for my 2 kids use only. I checked the orientation of the house because I know that south facing also has sun and is light, if not sunny all the time. It is not 100% north-south, but sightly on an angle. So, the southern side is actually more south-east. The living room will be in full sun all the time, but we had dining on this side of the house in the one we knocked down and it is not as nice as one may think. We definitely want an abundance of light but not too much direct sun. Regarding study - you are right, I have a lot of paperwork on the farm, but there is a study in pool area which is one of the reasons it is connected to the house. I was also thinking of en-suite / master bedroom layout - can this be improved? Re: Floor plan ,best solution 32Nov 28, 2016 1:03 am JelenaK Thanks leni. How would you improve family bathroom? There's s good book from the govt about solar orientation but I forget what it's called, sorry. But then again it sounds like you're well down the track. Good luck.
