Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 14, 2016 5:08 pm Hi all I'm new to the forum.After doing some searching about the problem I have encountered.I found this forum.The question I have building a new home and we are at frame stage.After doing some inspecting of the home I found cuts in the frame in a few places with wedges placed in the cuts & spray paint colored timber.I have no idea what it is or why could someone enlighten me please.It probably something simple but its just not registering at the moment.Thank you so much in advance. You have not posted a photo but it looks like they were straightening frame. If a stud has a significant bow you can partly cut it to straighten it but I always nail another long piece on the side to reinforce where cut is. I once had a carpenter who did what you described and I nearly fired him and I would have if he did it again. In my view cutting and wedging is not acceptable and I would not have it. If you have a smart phone then using Tapatalk etc for a direct upload here is probably easier...
