Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 01, 2016 4:51 pm Hi, I am new to this forum. The question is has anybody installed Chinese evacuated tube solar hot water unit. (150 Ltr tank capacity with 18 evacuated ube) I have purchased above hot water unit. The company is thsolar.com (i purchased from a friend, not direst from the company). I have installed the unit, all OK. but the problem is when i feed water in the system, tanks and all tubes gets filled up, and then once water is filled up, it pushes out all the tubes due to water pressure. there is no stop valve or anything in the system. so does anybody have encountered similar problem and have solution to the thing? The system has got a controller, a sensor like thing and a solenoid valve, but i am not sure how all is connected. i am assuming, if i can connect all these things, it migh work, but instruction book is not supplied. i tried to contact the company, but nobody knows English, i tried to explain in English, but at the other end, they can only understand few words (same as me, i only understand one sentence of their language- "ni how"). even the email returns undelivered. below is the link to the comany website and the hot water unit i have got. http://www.thsolar.com/thsolar_en/produ ... rd=0&id=52 Thank you very much in advance for your reading and help. Your help/ suggestion will be much appreciated. Thanks. Re: Chinese Evacuated tube solar hot water unit 2Nov 02, 2016 6:42 am Hi, I previously researched Evac tubes and my understanding is that the water does not flow through the tube at all. I understood that the tube holds a heat sink that absorbs all the heat collected from the tube and expels the heat via a heat exchanger where the water flows over it. https://goo.gl/images/gVsn7m You may have to re-fit your seals that connect the tube to the conductor. Good luck. Re: Chinese Evacuated tube solar hot water unit 3Nov 02, 2016 12:02 pm Hi Glo, Thank you for your reply. You are right, in most of the Evac tube solar water heater, water do not enter in the tube. But the one that i have got is, (as per link in my original post), water enters in the tank from bottom of the tank and fills in the tank and tubes, then tube due to heat in the tube, water siphon back from top of the tube into the tank and hot water runs from there to the bathroom or gas/ electric boosted water tank. So in this case, water pushes out the tube and additionally if there is negative pressure in the tank (when you use water in shower etc.), then it sucks tubes in. !!! So there has to be pressure controlling device (which i believe is supplied, but i installation manual is not supplied, so i dont know how to connect all). Quote:The disadvantage is that they can only be used in an open loop system that is controlled by the atmospheric pressure. Applications such as heating swimming pools are ideal with this type of solar water heater because water flows directly into the tubes. These type of solar collectors should only be used in applications above freezing. They can withstand small amounts of pressure but should not be used in pressure system found in most closed loop applications such as domestic hot water and space heating. If the feed in pressure exceeds the atmospheric pressure your seals won't hold which sounds like your issue the sun master is the solar heating to "warm" the water in the tank the S26 is your hot water system which will heat the water (25 degrees?) so with both turned on you… 2 14048 I want to build a decking to the drawn shape outlined in black.
