Covering Alfresco Area - Door / Something else?

I have a very small 3.5m x 3.5m "alfresco" area which is bricked wall on three sides and the open side faces a small sideyard..

One of the wall has a door which goes to kitchen. Floor is tiled. Sideyard connected is concreted.

Currently there is just a chair and table kept in alfresco. This area is kind of a blackhole and just accumulates dirt via wind and rain and i have to pressure wash the tiles to get some shine back every few weeks in summer. Now I have just left it.

We want to now use the area for kids toys or something while we are in the sideyard. What can we do ?

Sliding door? something like : http://www.dowell.com.au/products/alumi ... doors.html

Or something which comes from roof?

Something else? We want to keep it open maximum for the light etc.. so whatever we put needs to be max transparent and if possible retract fully if possible to the sidewall or to the roof..

Any thoughts?
Hi Its
You will need to put up more photos and info.ie Is the alfresco floor slab or paving, size beam supporting the roof,,budget, etc, etc
Unless your roof is structurally sound it won't support heavy glass doors
You might want to consider having something custom engineered/made with aluminium and specialised fixings/supports...

Any ideas guys?

Thanks
Hi Its
Hmm you have me stumped with retractable?
I was thinking one of these
https://www.google.com.au/search?q=encl ... JwaAwd9lD-
which
1. Allows light in
2. Extends the area beyond the roof
3. Partially enclosed In/out side room
4. It's called a waterfall window.. visually effective when rain runs down the sides..nice feature
It would be easy enough to make the frames out of timber and have it glazed
What's your budget?

Thanks.. We haven't thought of a budget yet as we didn't know what all we can do about that space..

Dont think we have much space outside the area for the waterfall window as there is a wooden fence door which will open right next to it..
You could install one of these http://www.stratco.com.au/products/home ... nt-blinds/ which are a bit like a window screen but designed for outdoors and have channels on each side. They let the breeze in but will keep the wind out. Not sure about price range though.
Hi, Was at a restaurant last weekend & they had these on their walls surrounding the dining area.

Was the clear vynl cafe style material.
