Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 23, 2016 6:28 pm I'm hoping that someone on the forum can help me. I purchased a block of land about 5 years ago, in the New England area near Glen Innes. After consulting with the local indigenous tribe they confirmed that my land was womens land and not far from a womens sacred site. After hearing this I decided to not build a house on the land, rather I would establish a womens healing space. I recently found out I will be made redundant at the end of the year, which will force me to retire 6 years early, so I need to get a DA completed with the local council, and get this project underway. I have already assembled a team of female tradies and will do an owner builder on the project, which will include a small cottage, a healing space and large storage shed which will double as a meeting room and group workshop space. My local council only has male inspectors and certifiers, and I would really love to keep this project entirely female, out of respect for the traditional custodians of the land. Does anybody know of a female building inspector and certifier ? Thanks in advance Alleykat Re: Looking for Female Building inspectors and Certifiers 2Sep 23, 2016 8:24 pm I know of one Building Surveyor but she was deregistered for multiple professional misconduct. I have been helping people with building problems in Victoria for about 12 years and have not heard of another one but I can't say I had a specific reason to look for one. Your best bet is to try AIBS register in your state. I must say the thought had never crossed my mind until I read your post. It's a very thoughtful thing you're doing. As someone who has helped a lot of women intimidated, bullied and sometimes abused by builders I can sympathise with what you are trying to do. Great effort and I wish you every success.
