Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Sep 19, 2016 1:17 pm Hi. I am wondering if anyone knows the answer to this question. I just had my transfer of land documents signed and my conveyancers have emailed me back saying I used an invalid witness. I had the forms witnessed at Australia post because I read on the attorney generals website that they are am authorized entity that could witness statuary declarations. Anyway the conveyancers sent me a list of authorized witnesses and in it it says "a person employed under Part 3 of the Public Administration Act 2004 with a classification that is prescribed as a classification to which this section applies or who holds office in a statutory authority with such a classification" I had a look through the public administration act 2004 and to me it looks like post office is covered under this. Am I correct or am I missing something? I really don't want to have to redo everything since settlement is in a week and we're already running late thanks to our conveyancers not answering emails and not returning calls for 3+ weeks! They told me yesterday that they needed all paperwork sent off 2 weeks before settlement but they only sent me the paperwork 13 days before settlement despite me sending them emails and calling the office multiple times, weeks prior trying to find out what needed to be done prior to settlement! I'm pretty annoyed and angry to say the least. Thanks for the help.
