Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 18, 2016 7:47 pm So we moved into our new build 2 mths ago. Received a huge waterbill. Since the recorded amount of the bill, 43000L has been used in 42 days... Totally alarmed by this. Surely everything should have been pressure tested. We have one patch outside where the grass is nice and green. Our property slopes and the water appears to be settling in our neighbours (who are about 2 ft below us). The water comes into our house on the left hand side, and the water is accumulating on the right hand side, which is making me concerned that the leak may be under the slab. Is this possible in a new build? We have contacted the builder and hopefully the plumber shows up tomorrow. Really concerned though as out meter now reads 117KL, so if its accumulating under the house. . What does that mean for the structure??? Re: Water leak 2Sep 23, 2016 4:26 pm Hi alymei, I suggest you be there when the plumber comes and ask your questions of him and ask the builder about the possible ramifications regarding the structure. Also I suggest you read your soil report and the recommendations at the back and ring him too.A location and soil type would also help when you get back to us if the problem is not solved at this plumber visit. Sound like a lot of water! Good luck. Re: Water leak 3Sep 25, 2016 4:51 pm Turn off all water taps and see if your meter is still ticking over. If it's a small leak take a reading prior to everyone leaving for the day and read it again on your return. Again, make sure all taps are turned off. If you make sure all taps inside and out are turned off, what does the water meter show if you leave it for a while. 2 16231 Hi all, I am hoping someone has some ideas as to what is causing my bathroom leak. The leaking appears to mainly happen when we turn the sink basins on. It takes a while… 0 4026 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit?
