Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 01, 2016 11:09 am I've recently moved into a brand new townhouse and whenever there is ANY wind at all, the roof makes all types of banging/buckling/cracking sounds. The townhouse was only finished about 6 months ago and it's a tiled roof but it sounds like a tin roof with these sounds. I have already had the builders back once and they re-attached some guttering which is what they thought the problem was, however, the sounds are still just as bad. The weird thing is, the sounds seem to be coming from where our townhouse connects to the one next door. I know I can ask the builder to come back but I'm pretty sure this is the last time I'll get him out there so I want to be confident that the problem will get resolved because I can't even sleep upstairs in the bedrooms when there's any wind because it's that loud. I have an audio file which shows the sound but I can't see anywhere to attach it in this forum, is there any way I can attach it? I would appreciate any advice on this as the lack of sleep is brutal. Thanks. Re: Roof noises - brand new build - tiled roof 2Aug 03, 2016 10:06 am Hi Cody22 Contact you local Council Building authority They should have a copy of the engineering plans (I am assuming it's a truss structure?) Then contact the Surveyor/engineer who certified the structure as compliant and ask him to check it for piece of mind. BTW it should still be under structural warrant.
