I'm doing a rough initial budget for a new house build. It's 2 bedrooms, large living/dining, timber framed, cathedral ceilings, compact fluro or LED lights everywhere, 5 ceiling fans and about 200sqm floor area including the garage.
Can anyone give me a guesstimate of the cost to wire the house including:
- electrician labour
- ceiling fans
- two smoke alarms
- two bathroom exhaust fans
- anything else I've forgotten (but no trenching is required)
I'm guessing $10k to $15k but thought it wise to get some figures from those of you who have recent experience.

Paid $40 for install and supply of double power socket, led lights $25 -$75 to buy plus install, price here various a lot, $35-$100 to install, you need to know amounts of items in house, its lots more expensive to add on after signing contract with volume builders, you can easily add $10, 000 after contract is signed.

Yes $10-$15k is a reasonable budget for the total electrical portion of your build.
If you are on an acreage or rural block and there is a significant distance between your house and the nearest power pole/pit then your consumer mains costs will be higher.
