Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 09, 2016 12:17 pm Our 2 storey home has just turned 3 years old and the top half is rendered with acrylic texture render coat finish. We have noticed that we are finding lots of white sand particles on the floor of the balcony and upon closer look can see the render crumbling/flaking and it seems that the binder or glue that holds it all together is failing!! I am wondering what to do now and who is responsible for this e.g. the builder, the renderer or is it a product fault? The product is Hadrian Texture Sand Finish which i believe is a Dulux product. We were told this product would last 10 years before it needs redoing...clearly this is NOT true... Re: What to do 3 yr old home with Acrylic Texture Render fai 3Jun 10, 2016 11:32 am As above but I would also be contacting Dulux and seeing if you can get one of their reps or technicians to come and have a look. Companies that manufacture coatings like this really hate it when faulty installation makes it look like it is a fault of their products. It is pointless at this stage trying to determine the cause. Call the builder,it is his responsibility, regardless of the reason. Re: What to do 3 yr old home with Acrylic Texture Render fai 7Jun 13, 2016 1:07 am It's not pointess to determine the cause now. Im sure if your new car broke down, you'd want to not only fix your car but find out the cause for your own piece of mind. Finding out the cause isn't going to delay fixing the problem (as the OP should call the builder asap), in fact it could hasten the repair and ensure the problem doesn't reoccue. The Builder should determine the cause upon inspection and who is responsible. The reason for the fail should not be guessed by someone on an internet forum. I state again, the Op asked what to do now,and who was responsible. If my new car broke down, my first call would be to the company I bought it off, and let them decide who is at fault. Suggestions please for acrylic rendering Color to match austral brick urban one pepper. Pic for reference. Thanks 0 5228 Has anyone had experience with using this surfacing? I have read it can stain easily. 0 3565 It's a classic case of aesthetics subjugating function where style takes precedence over practicality. 3 4073 |
