You can't just place furniture etc how you want as you have to make provision for the opening of doors...especially in a kids room! We have switched to sliders too. For the compactness so you don't have to worry about the swing arc, which annoyed us in the last house. We found, normally we only had one cupboard open at a time. Mirrors are good, but alot of cleaning if you have kids who like to touch the mirror, lick them etc. I agree that the mirrored door is good when you dont have full size mirrors elsewhere. Re: Sliding doors on wardrobes? 9Jun 03, 2016 2:40 pm we've got hinge doors in our current home and having the bed next to it, i had to move the bed more to the opposite side which meant i had to get a narrower bedside table on that opposite site. i'd definitely go with sliding but it all comes down to the orientation and how the room is set up.
