Browse Forums General Discussion 1 May 25, 2008 1:57 pm Hi everyone, I'm back after moving in, but I'm on temp dial up at the moment.
It seams that telstra cant get it right and cant do a simple change of address. Total time on the phone to them is currently 3.5 hours and still need to call back today!! Thats only 5 different people as well!! Have settled in nicley and am now finally sleeping well - lots of new noises to get used to I ordered new bedroom furniture for the kids but they made DS's in the wrong colour and we have to wait for them to remake it!! So currently DD is the only one not sleeping on a mattress on the floor. One piece of her furniture was too big for DDs room, so we put it in our room, which got me thinking...I convinced DH to let me get a bed to match!! It should arrive in about 3 weeks!! I will be busy on ebay getting rid of the old furniture!! We had the guys in from Yellow Brick Road (carpet and tile cleaners) the night we moved in and they were able to fit us in to clean and seal the tiles in the whole house 122sqm that week, 2 day job!! I had to put the furniture off till Tuesday, so we will finally have something to sit on!! And something for me to photograph!! My new Miele washer and dryer came and I love love love them - except for the time it takes to do a wash!! We moved our cats in yesterday and they both have gone to ground. One is up and about and the other is in shut down mode - over 24 hours now without going to the toilet Hope he will be OK. Have had visitors every day - have had to vaccuum after them everyday Broke all my vases my fault and people have bought flowers and they are all in plastic containers!! Have to go and get food now, we have been living day to day and I have only managed to cook once this week - it took me a while to work out the induction cook top - it had a lock on it!! So big supermarket shop now. Paula Re: My house - new home for hall table 4May 25, 2008 3:25 pm Moving house seems exciting and tiring...

Re: My house 5May 25, 2008 3:50 pm Hi Paula, I hope it all settles down for you soon. I also had the Telstra difficulties - first the phone didn't work then it took 6 days to fix a problem with the internet At least the technician had given me his mobile number when he connected the phone line so I was able to get him back without going through Telstra when the phone didn't actually work.

I've now got a Fisher & Pykel and it takes a long time too. Gone are the days of a quick wash . Watch the cat carefully if it won't go potty. I was taking Flynn out every hour to go but he wouldn't - he burst after 12 hours and he did it in the house . Thankfully he's now back to going outside. Hope you get your internet fixed pronto, the forum is a little quiet without you and Phoenix Received keys to my new home on 16/5/08 Re: My house - new home for hall table 6May 25, 2008 3:58 pm Thanks everyone
Colleen Watch the cat carefully if it won't go potty. I was taking Flynn out every hour to go but he wouldn't - he burst after 12 hours and he did it in the house . Thankfully he's now back to going outside. I'm too scared to take them outside in case they run away - one is already scratching at a window to get out, she is the runner! VJ I'm sure there'll be lots of photos coming when you've settled in... I still have to find the camera Paula Re: My house - new home for hall table 7May 25, 2008 4:18 pm bec dont let those cats out for at least 3 wks! have they got your address on their collar just in case? Our cat hid under our bed for 36 hours after the last move but has settled in fine. We let him out after 3 days and I'm not sure we could have kept him in for 3 weeks. We put butter on his paws. Not sure if this is an old wives tale but he hasn't run off after 3 moves . Maybe he just likes us a lot . -although not sure why given our 5 yo drags him around everywhere. He's very tolerant. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new house Paula. Re: My house - new home for hall table 8May 25, 2008 4:25 pm in one of our moves we put butter on the cats paws
and somehow it got out it was found heading steadily to previous home (which is over 100kms) was already half way out of town with sort of burnt paws *eep call the rspca* from padding on the hot pavement I guess cats are amazing dogs are just like righto this is home then cool Re: My house - new home for hall table 9May 25, 2008 4:55 pm Hello Paula,

If they are clean??? I heard that the oils in out feet are more damaging to the carpet than a bit of dirt, is that right? That was her excuse for making us wear something on our feet in the house, as we were growingup. If dirt gets walked in on my carpet, which is hardy ever, I leave it till it dries, then vacuum it straight out of the fibres.
