I'm looking to build my own garden shed as i can't find one priced correct that suits my needs... i wanted to run my method / material past everybody to make sure i'm on track Concrete slab frame to sit on the slab (or best to use stirrips?) treated pine frame one of my questions is can i screw my outside corrugated sheeting (or colourbond.. haven't decided) directly into the treated pine, or should i put some FC sheeting between the frame and the sheeting? might have some more questions throughout appreciate your feedback. Re: building a garden shed.... 2Mar 21, 2016 7:28 am Bolt your bottom plate down directly to the slab with Dynabolts or similar. No need for any other fixing down like stirrups or when you pour the slab leave reo rods poking up 150-200mm. When you put your bottom plate down, drill a 10mm hole where the rods are and slide the plate into position. Then bend the rod over. If you have your timber frame just past the outside of the slab a few mm, you can run your sheeting down past the slab 50mm or thereabouts so water runs off. Some speed bracing to the walls and roof frame will keep your shed straight as well. Fix the sheets directly to the top plate, to a mid row of nogs and to the bottom plate. Sarking the walls is optional but I'd do the roof to prevent condensation.
