Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Mar 16, 2016 11:09 pm Hi Everyone. I currently rent in Sydney... but planning to build in the southern highlands. In regards to the best tax options and if you were in my position would you... A) Just build and rent it out from the start. Won't be my PPOR so i'll get taxed when i sell B) Build and move down and live in for a year... and finish the landscaping. Then rent it out for a few years (about 5). During that time i'd come back up to sydney and rent (as my job is based here). This way rent i pay in sydney will be covered by rent in the southern highlands so i could afford this. This would be listed as my PPOR but i'm not sure what i can claim (like depreciation..etc). If you know of any article or references that deal with this type of situation.. could you point me to them? Happy to do the reading... just finding it hard to find the stuff to read Thanking you in advance~ Re: Build and Rent... verse Moving in? 2Mar 17, 2016 6:54 am Might be worth having a look at the property chat forum https://propertychat.com.au/community/ You will find lots of people talking about these sort of issues as its main interest is investment properties. Re: Build and Rent... verse Moving in? 4Mar 18, 2016 8:19 am Hi bashworth, Thankyou for the link. I will continue my investigations there ~ Hi deejay08, I'm buying in Retford Park, Bowral. I've come to the forums to find some builders (and personal reviews) for who can build according to the design guidelines for the estate. I stumbled on some of your posts, is your land registered yet and who have you decided to build with? Should i stay away from certain builders? Re: Build and Rent... verse Moving in? 5Apr 25, 2016 12:59 pm Hey Gummz! We are building with a small narellan company. They have been awesome so far and we got to change everything we wanted to with our design. We really concentrated on building for our climate and other builders were quite rigid with their plans...I know allworth, gjgardner, Mac jones and hotondo are building in the highlands and a few people on here are building with them currently and sound pretty happy. Land is in LPI and just been given its own lot number so very close now
Did you make a decision on what you will be doing post build (living in Sydney and renting or live in for a year) Hello everyone, I have a question regarding moving a chandelier after it has been mounted. The chandelier in question is quite large, measuring 4 meters… 0 72331 Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17518 8 6119 |
