Help!
I've recently removed the old Vulcan Gas Electric Heater from the fireplace, I'm leaving the actual fireplace open so I can decorate with candles and such like, one thing I'm completely confused over, is how I go about closing the chimney. The actual fireplace has had the Vulcan in it for many years, and a long metal tube ran up the up the chimney from the Vulcan which we've since removed..
Am I safe to just block off the chimney as currently there's a huge hole which is fine for now as it's hot, but as the weather gets cooler it'll make the house very cold.
I was thinking of using that expanding foam spray to close the hole off, does anyone have any opinion on doing this? Do I need put an air vent in? I'm completely clueless so advise would be much appreciated!
Thanks
