Or did this turn out to be costly and very drawn out and wish you never bothered? Our builder is trying to restrict our rights in a contract against the domestic building act. Most builders use a standard building industry contract. It's a contract, so generally your rights are protected as set out in the contract. What is the matter under dispute? Generally, by the time you have full blown building dispute you will have lost time and money so prevention is better than cure. It pays to manage and mediate dispute and you should negotiate from strength. To do so you should have professional help from building consultant or builder may think you can be rolled.
