We are in a rental and have done this, it causes tears for a few minutes, but then our son just happily plays in the bath for ages, with our next biggest concern being water containment Our mixer tap is left in situ most of the time, it is only the odd occasion it is removed. I have opted for a hand shower to rinse suds etc off after the bath, like what they have in hotels. I think what you have opted for will be fine. Cheers Mark I've got a challenge here.
