Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 09, 2016 10:42 am As mentioned we have a monument roof, also have monument gutters , windows and garage goor. We have a shale grey fascia. I originally wanted surfmist render but my partner doesnt want it as he thinks it will be too stark (as it will be the only colour because we have no way to have a contrast render) i also like grey pebble but worry it is too washed out and plain? I am leaning towards the lighter renders as our roof is dark. any suggestions on a colour? (no creams or browns please as our whole estate is filled with these colours) we also have a timber front door and steps. Thanks Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 6Feb 21, 2016 10:55 pm We also have monument roof and gutters, and went with monument render as our aluminium door and window frames are charcoal satin. Bricks are grey. Photos are on pg 4 of our build thread. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 8Feb 22, 2016 8:10 am Haji We also have monument roof and gutters, and went with monument render as our aluminium door and window frames are charcoal satin. The use of an accent render colour to the front elevation is very refined, and establishes a theme for further accents within the house. For this house the accent is a canary yellow, but it could be any colour the homeowner likes. Together with a neutral and modern colour palette of silvers, greys and charcoals the colour palette is striking and sophisticated. I also love the Jarrah eaves on the skillion roof of the portico and the timber-look decking below to add an element of warmth to the front elevation, this could also be achieved by adding a timber entry door or timber-look garage door – which are common upgrades for homeowners that I see. Hi jack, Thanks for that info! Ive read something similar online so its good to know lots of schemes that can be used. we live by the beach so were aiming for that coastal look. Our roof, gutters, window frames and garagr door are all monument ( were waiting for the garage door to be fitted) our fascia is shale grey & front door will be timber. we are also have rock walls out the front which my partner will get from his oyster farm! so im hoping it will give off that coastal vibe. We have been debating render colour and we are very close to having to make a decision, one of our top choices is surfmist and we have a few light greys to look at. Unfortunately, our facade wasnt designed to have a feature render colour but we do have a timber post on the front porch. Fingers crossed what i have in my mind looks good in real life. We will find out withing 1.5 weeks when the render starts! Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 14Feb 23, 2016 1:58 pm For what its worth, I have a very dark roof and monument gutters and facia and I went with Light leather and tapestry beige as my main and contrast renders. I cannot remember which is which but the lighter of the two is my main render. The windows are a colour in between monument and the darker contrast. I wanted to avoid greys as they can come off as colder. Also I have a classic travertine stone clad feature piece so the colours tie in together. Good luck. Mark Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 15Feb 23, 2016 8:33 pm Sounds great! I was worried about the type of grey i would choose, theres so many! I wanted to aviod that washed out look. We have cladding down the side of our house but it can't be seen from the street very much so were going to do it the same colour as the render and fingers crossed it turns out ok! Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 16Feb 24, 2016 5:28 pm We have gone with vanilla quake and basalt render with monument gutters and fascia. I would really recommend getting some sample pots and painting them outside because everything looks a lot lighter in the sun. Also consider whether your facade will get sun or if like us, the facade faces south. Given this I tried to make sure I picked a colour that I liked the look of on the light but out of direct sun. We will get afternoon sun from west /north west at the front door. Our front facade is 15 metres wide 6 of it being the garage so not a huge amount of render will be seen front on Re: Monument roof what colour render (PLEASE help!!!) 18Apr 08, 2016 1:51 am Jack Williams Coastal, Ecletric and Warm & Cosy schemes are what’s really popular right now for exterior elevation colours . I saw on another thread that the anodic dark grey was really blue in real life? Can you confirm if that it the case? Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 Thank you @. Tried to play with the facade models but the exact colour is not matching up. 2 3267 Thank you so much. We ended going with the terrain that’s part of our brick. 2 2536 |
