Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 09, 2016 10:18 am i read something on the forums here ....i think about getting a low pressure or fast filling toilet valve? so the toilet fills faster and the pump doesnt have to run for as long is this correct? what is it im actually looking for? Re: fast filling toilet valve 2Feb 10, 2016 7:59 pm It is the Fluidmaster cistern valve 400UK063. They are about $20 in Bunnings. It comes with a standard high pressure seal but there are two other optional seals available, a low pressure seal and a very low pressure gravity fed (red) seal 242LP071. The red seal is ideal if a pump supplies the cistern. The flow path can also be made even less restrictive if the plastic pigs tail flow restrictor is removed from the Fluidmaster's shank. I switch the cisterns over to mains water (there are 2 cistern valves in each cistern and two isolation valves because the rainwater is plumbed direct to the cistern) during our southern summer and the red seal has never had a problem with mains water pressure. The cleaner flow path also allows me to turn the pump off and gravity feed the cistern at other times provided that the tank delivers at least 700mm head, the other two seals don't allow this. This saves the pump thousands of start-stops every year. The optional seal needs to be ordered at the Bunnings special orders desk. IMPORTANT: When you change the seals, make sure that you raise the float's adjustment arm before twisting the float. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Any store that stocks the Fluidmaster valve should be able to get a red seal for you. If you have any trouble, I can post one to you, I have them in stock. 3in1 Supadiverta. I'll see if I can get to bunnings in the next few weeks Re: fast filling toilet valve 6Feb 11, 2016 1:02 pm They won't have the optional seal in stock, you will have to order it at the special orders desk. You will also need to take a print out that shows that the part actually exists. I also mentioned previously that I can gravity feed my cistern down to a 700mm head. The recommended minimum is 1 metre but I have found that with my plumbing and the main tank being only a few metres away, the 700mm head is still enough to activate the close off seal but any less pressure will fail to close the seal and shut off the water. The inflow is also slow at this pressure but it doesn't cause any issues...there is never a queue in line but there sometimes is at the place below.
