Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Feb 08, 2016 1:35 pm Hi all, In a 37 sqm, 30 year old unit, I would like the old tiles lifted (they are 30 years old too), and the concrete polished. There appears to be a 2mm slope on the southern corner of the floor. Given the slopage, this might suggest cracks in the cement slab? and I guess I am stuck with the slope if the slab is polished it doesn't get re-levelled with the grinding? I am wondering if it is worth getting the tiles lifted and the concrete polished. We have no idea what the concrete slab has in it. All input greatly appreciated. Its poor likelihood that the concrete underneath is of a quality where the polish will look great. 2mm slope could be accounted for in the grinding, but if you are after a particular look the concrete under the tile wont give, consider pangea polished concrete veneer. This would take care of your levels too. Pangea can also be laid right over tiles, so you save on demo and disposal aswell Creator of superduperonium, expert at expert things, nobel laureate, can hold my breath for 10 minutes.
