Our house is getting bricked at the moment. Today I noticed this brick on the corner of the front of the house near our entrance. Has this happened to anyone else? I gather it's not repairable? I'm just annoyed as all other bricks are perfect so far. Wouldn't have bothered me if it was a side corner of the house but it's a corner right at the front! I have noticed some bricks in stack have had edges crumble off them so maybe this one crumbled after they laid it. Still it annoys me.

They can take one brick out and replace it. We had a brick laid the wrong way and they fixed it as it was annoying my husband.

Get the bricklayer to use an arbortech saw, cut out the brick and re brick it ASAP with the same sand using the same mortar mix ASAP.
Otherwise tell the builder that you'll be enjoying the new render feature wall that he'll be putting in for free.
This is a perfect example of damage to fresh brickwork. You can see the brick wasn't damaged when it was laid as there is no mortar in the broken area.
Looking at what your brickwork is like, I'd say your brickie could fix this, but its important not to cut it out with an angle grinder and only use an arbortech saw.
Being a builder is more than just having once held a hammer. It's about the trades you hire and ensuring that they give a result that meets the industry standard and the home owners expectations.
