Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 29, 2016 10:17 am We are building a corrogated gal house. We want to run the sheets vertically, but it looks like everyone runs them horozontally. Is there a reason for this? Or just asthestics ? We will have a large hip roof, 1.5mtrs on three sides and 3mtrs out the front. Re: Corrogated gal sheets. Which way to run? 2Jan 29, 2016 11:23 am If the sheets are run vertically your house will look more like a shed. Sheds have the sheets run vertically as there are usually only three horizontal girts (bottom, middle & top) to fix the sheets to. The sheets must be arranged perpendicular to their supports. With a typical house, the wall framing consists of vertical studs, so the sheets must be run horizontally, otherwise a second layer of horizontal battens would be required. Re: Corrogated gal sheets. Which way to run? 3Jan 29, 2016 2:00 pm I tend to agree with Betaloo however a builder I drew plans for a few years ago ran his vertically and it looks pretty good. It's a pretty modern looking house and somehow suits it better being that way. He also used mini-orb rather than the bigger corrugated sheets. What style of house are you aiming for ? Stewie Re: Corrogated gal sheets. Which way to run? 4Jan 29, 2016 2:10 pm Thanks for the replies guys. We are happy to put extra battens in if that's the only reason. We were starting to get concerned it's harder to do the windows and corners, since we couldn't find many pictures with the sheets running that way. We are looking for the country cottage, steel house feel. We will be using full length timber windows and 100x100 timber verandah posts, with a 5 metre double sliding timber doors at the front, so it should compliment the gal. It's just a 'box' 14m x 10m. 7 5628 I had a similar issue with my fridge not too long ago. It wasn't the same model, but the symptoms were pretty much the same: the compressor would start and then stop… 3 5200 Yeah mine about 9 metres long and 8 wide with slope of 25% at one point but the end point of the outlet is past the side of garage and if he concretes allowing for… 4 3571 |
