Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jan 15, 2016 10:01 am We are in a wireless NBN area. I live in a small country town and don't trust my local telstra contractor shop as they have a bad reputation! Our builder told us we should organise NBN at frame stage but local telstra shop said not to organise it til we are moving in as we will have to start paying for the bundle as soon as it is installed. So those building with wireless NBN, when do you organise installation. Our frame and roof is up now and I'm confused to who is right! Re: When do I organise wireless NBN installation? 3Jan 15, 2016 10:54 am I'd have thought you'd wire the house for it as a start ? We have smart wiring - fibre optic - and Telstra Velocity. This is VERY good. Re: When do I organise wireless NBN installation? 4Jan 15, 2016 11:19 am its likley the cabling in the house will be done as part of the build, but the gear that connects to the local wireless node i imagine would be installed by the operator. What the OP is being told is that when that gear is installed, the network is active, thus needing to pay for it. As long as your house wiring is sorted, i dont see why you cant do it after you move in. You may just not have it for a couple of weeks untill after you move in as appointments could be filled a few weeks in advance. they might not too, so depends if you want it active the moment you move in. You could try and book an appointment around when you know when your PCI is going to be done Creator of superduperonium, expert at expert things, nobel laureate, can hold my breath for 10 minutes. Re: When do I organise wireless NBN installation? 5Jan 15, 2016 4:04 pm You need to fill out a form found here: http://www.nbnco.com.au/develop-or-plan ... quest.html Do it around 20 days prior to hand over and give them a call a week after lodgement to plan when they can get access. Re: When do I organise wireless NBN installation? 6Jan 26, 2016 8:23 pm I got mine connected. It is a 2 step process. First part is to wire your house appropriately to be able to be NBN compliant. 2nd step is for Telstra install their modem for NBN. 2nd step can wait till you move in. Update from me!
