We had already made our ensuite windows obscure and then had to have the games room and bedroom 4 done as well. I wasn't happy about having it in the bedroom so our only option was to raise the height of the sill to 1.7m from the floor.
If we had of moved the house 1.5m over then we would have been at 3.5m from the boundary and we could have had normal glass windows. We don't have any neighbours on either side of us and that doesn't matter, this was picked up when our plans went to council and our permit was only approved once the windows were changed. Check to see how far away your neighbours house is from the boundary and then check with your local council.
