The problem is that the fence is on an angle and I would like a rather tall fence extension (at least 1m taller). I have fence extensions on the back part of my fence, but not sure how to tackle this side section. If that is not possible by inserting a sleeve at the top of existing posts, then a thinner member is fixed to the sides of the posts and carried up to the desired height... with permission from neighbours (and possibly council) assumed of course. There are several rules associated with shading habitable windows and outdoor private open space, which may or may not be involved.
