Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 25, 2015 8:12 pm Hi - I live in a brick home around 30 years old with wooden floors which is built on a slope (so the back living area is up above the ground). Normally I don't have many people in the house at once but this Christmas the family is coming over for a while on Christmas day to collect gifts. There will be 12-15 adults and 5 children, and I may be paranoid but I was concerned at having that many people on the back living area wooden floor and wanted to confirm what kind of typical load bearing such a floor could safely hold. As far as I know the floors are hardwood and the piers underneath are brick. Would I have any reason to be concerned or am I just being an old paranoid (: Re: Weight on a wooden floor 2Nov 26, 2015 7:54 am If your house was built to regs with the appropriate brick pier/bearer/joist sizing and spacing you won't have any problems.
