Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Nov 25, 2015 7:53 pm Hey guys, Building a new home with a secondary lounge room/ theatre which is 4.9x4. Would you extend the room to say 4.9x4.5 or what you leave it?? Re: 2nd lounge room 4.9x4 extend or not 2Nov 26, 2015 7:57 am Bigger ( in most room sizes ) especially lounge/family room/HT is always preferable over smaller. Once you have a lounge, a couple of chairs in there and sundry other furniture, that room will shrink in usable space. Stewie Re: 2nd lounge room 4.9x4 extend or not 3Nov 27, 2015 11:25 am I think it depends on how you plan to use the room. If it is just for watching tv with a couch against the wall across the room from the tv, then 4m is a good size, you don't want to be too far from the screen. However if you want to be able to walk behind the couch or are planning a full on theatre room with more than one row then bigger would be better. Re: 2nd lounge room 4.9x4 extend or not 5Nov 27, 2015 4:34 pm Sorry should have mentioned so couch to TV is 4.9 long and 4m wide How much wider would u go Re: 2nd lounge room 4.9x4 extend or not 6Nov 27, 2015 7:34 pm If you go to some of the home theatre websites they usually have a few setups to show the correct distances from certain sized TVs for optimal viewing plus the right dimensions of the rooms etc. If you take a squizz at the HT & Auto dept here on the forums there are a few threads about this too... viewforum.php?f=34 Stewie Hi all, My first post, we are building a house and can’t decide the layout of the lounge room. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13694 ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7703 You should pressure clean your roof first and make sure the paint you buy also is anti mould. 4 17579 |
