Hi All,
Looking to gyprock the raked ceiling/exposed beams of our home.
The house is about 40 years old and the rafters/beams have sagged (i'm guessing its due to the span, roof design and weight of the tiles).
Theres a few things i need to to do prepare the ceiling for the gyprocking, the main issue is that where the rafters meet the wall it isn't level, as we want the gyprock square set, this simply wont work as is and would result in a poor finish.
I've thrown up the laser level in the below pics, might be hard to see but if you zoom in you can see that some of the rafters are 20-30mm lower than others.

This was taken in the middle of the room, the rafter on the edge is about 20mm higher.

Just wondering what my options are here, we don't want to/can't lose any more ceiling height, so battening it out isn't really an option as the high end of the ceiling (not pictured) has windows that will just clear once gyprocked at the existing ceiling level.
I'm thinking of sistering a 90x35 treated pine to the rafters that are higher, and bringing them in level with the lowest sitting rafters and using this to attach the gyprock to.
To do this, would the sistered timber need to span the length of the rafter AND sit on the top plate of the walls?
If anyone has any experience of ideas i'd love to hear it, never done anything like this before so want to make sure i do it right.
