Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 26, 2015 1:22 pm CAESARSTONE sent a technician to inspect our recently installed Clamshell kitchen BENCHTOP. He acknowledged that a very noticeable (almost in the centre of the main counter top) and unsightly (resembles a large splatter) irregularity in the variegated pattern was too large to be rectified. The installation company has acknowledged the imperfection and that the location was unfortunate. Both say that the other is ultimately responsible: CAESARSTONE for supplying an inferior product; the installer for neglecting to use that section of the stone slab in a less prominent position. CAESARSTONE has submitted a report to the installation company - a copy of which was requested but has not been supplied. The installer acknowledged that that section of the BENCHTOP could be replaced as they still had stock of the same batch. However, no one has yet accepted responsibility for the replacement. Meanwhile, installation of the glass splashback is being delayed. It would be much appreciated if anyone can offer any suggestions as to who should be held accountable and thus be responsible for rectifying the problem. Re: CAESARSTONE KITCHEN BENCHTOP IMPERFECTION 2Aug 26, 2015 3:22 pm Are you using a builder? I'd ask them to deal with it otherwise if you are owner builder ask the installer to replace it\repair it and deal with who pays the bill after the fact, confirm Caesarstone are happy for this to happen as well. Get everything in writing and if speaking on the phone follow it up with am email as soon as you hang up outlining what was discussed. Regardless of who is at fault it needs to be resolved so other trades can finished. Re: CAESARSTONE KITCHEN BENCHTOP IMPERFECTION 3Aug 27, 2015 3:34 pm 100 percent installer, as he is the retailer and he chose to use final product, this is his problem and you go for man made stone amongst other reasons for its consistency in which granite would be another story. Thanks for sharing. Looks good. The joiner has come back with a quote of close to 5k. I think we are going to not do it. Attaching panelling is something they are dead… 11 10083 The gap can be adjusted so it's tighter. You can definitely set up corner cabinets to have the same gap as standard doors. 2 8587 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 3664 |
