My boyfriend and I have decided to Sand back and polish the timber flooring in his investment home ourselves (due to budget constraints). Some of the floors had linoleum bonded to the floor and it's a nightmare to get off.
Can any one advise us on where to start what to do and what the best products are?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to hire a floor sander and edge sander. You really need to try and get any adhesive off the floor first. You don't want to be trying to remove it with the floor sander.
Try some acetone or thinners.
