Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 22, 2015 11:30 am I'm replacing some old round 76mm cemented in steel posts that are holding up a flat roofed single story weathervoard house extension. The replacements will not be cemented in but have a flat plate bolted onto some new flat footings. The posts will be 100 x 100 RHS and 4mm thick. My question is what thickness and dimensions should the baseplate be? The new footings will be 300mm wide. Cheers. Re: Post replacements 2Aug 24, 2015 9:16 pm Doesn't really matter what size the base plate is provided it is large enough to get the appropriate dyna bolt into it in regards to space to drill it. 300x300 pads seem really small.Im sure if it was to be built from new the requirement would be at least 500x500x600 deep, and the depth would be determined by the soil classification.Cross bracing would also be called for. It seems very clear to me that your contract states that a security account does NOT need to be established so the answer to the builder is NO. If in doubt find a contract… 1 8473 2 31290 If there have been changes, variations, during construction then the drawings should be revised, the building permit amended and the current, as built drawings given to… 2 4445 |
