Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Aug 03, 2015 7:21 am Hello I am querying if anyone has had an experience or has done this before. We purchased a double brick 2 storey house in January and we would love to make to ground level legal height and are aware this would be costly, however is there a less evasive/cheaper/easier/possible option out of raising the whole house or digging down to get that extra height? It was built in approx. the 70's and they have just built in downstairs. We are very new to this and not sure how to go about it or if either of these options are even possible, so any help/advice is much appreciated. Even if anyone is aware of contractors that could be contacted for this type of work that can be trusted/know what they are doing. Many thanks in advance and sorry if posted this in the wrong section. You should post some photos so we can see what your situation is. If it is double brick on a concrete slab i doubt whether you could do anything about it. You should first contact a structural engineer to see what he says.
