Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jul 27, 2015 10:08 am Looking for some advice on what to do about this. I received diagrams from the builder letting me know that the stormwater pipe discharge to street was running on the left hand side of the property meaning the shortest distance to the street. During excavation for a front fence footing, the excavators were cautious to not hit anything, but subsequently found the stormwater pipe on the right hand side of the property. This means it is taking the longest possible route to the street covering a good 30 meters. I'm not sure what to ask the builder to do about this, but problems that come to mind are I don't know where the pipe now runs, and if it does spring a leak I'd have to dig up the entire yard and driveway to get it fixed. Is this something I should be asking the builder to put in the right spot as per diagrams ? Any help appreciated. Re: Help: Storm water discharge to street in wrong spot 2Jul 27, 2015 1:17 pm Why dont you know where the pipe is? You havent been onsite to supervise? Big mistake. Someone there will know where it is laying. Ask them The pipe should have been encased in sand to prevent cracking , ie springing a leak as you say, due to soil movement. Again daily supervision is a must. Leaks arent really a problem, blockages are if you dont keep it clean. Your downpipes should have leaf eaters on them, and put a flap on the exits to prevent frogs etc getting in there. then you wont have problems. Location of the drainpipe wont affect you will it, unless you had plans to build something in its path? Building Standards; Getting It Right! Hi All, We have a fall from road to garage front.
