Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 26, 2015 12:34 pm So, I bought a tester pot of paint. The colour was a lot darker than what I anticipated. So I measured out 1/2 cup of the tester pot paint and 1/2 cup of ceiling white (the only white paint I had in the house) and I mixed them together so I could get an idea of what half strength would be like. I figured in theory it should be close. It's just pink paint for my daughters bedroom so I'm not overly worried if it isn't super accurate. However I do want to know if the colour I've created via my DIY paint mixing experiment will be fairly close to the real 1/2 strength paint. What does everyone think? Re: Paint - making my own half strength colour? 2Jun 26, 2015 12:39 pm Probably. I do know that people do this - same colour - different strength - to get special affects. Can be good. Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20354 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7143 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5713 |
