Looking to replace rotted panels and looking to source around 40m (at a guess). Can anyone manufacture to a specific profile? Re: Sourcing Weatherboard in Adelaide - prefer Western Red C 2Jun 15, 2015 12:36 pm Usually only the bigger timber yards and even then you will pay for them to set up their moulders . You may have to pay for the cutter itself to be ground to that specific shape unless they can do it either from an existing one or in two passes using a combo of cutters. Last time I had to get something special made ( here in Sydney about ten years ago ) it cost $75 for them to set up their spindle moulder. I was lucky in that they had a profile cutter very similar to what I was after so all we had to pay for was the timber at the going rate per metre. If we needed to get a cutter made or an existing one ground to shape I was told we would be up for another fee of around $350. I'm unsure of your timber yards in Adelaide though. Is it a complicated shape ? If it is relatively straightforward, a carpenter with a decent router and a couple of different bits could probably knock it up a lot cheaper which is how I've done some in the past for some restoration work. Stewie I’m restoring all my 40yr old windows and I want to install seals around the casements. I’ve sanded back and oiled the frames with sikkens. My plan is to box up inside… 0 6486 I need to replace some lengths of aluminum shower frame but I can't seem to find any suppliers of this stuff. Neither the blue or orange home centers carry these things.… 0 5396 2 5866 |
