Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 09, 2015 12:11 pm Can anyone tell me the best height to put the power point in the wall for a tv? I was thinking at about 110cm from the floor but was curious if there was a standard as such? Re: Power point wall height for TV? 3Jun 09, 2015 7:45 pm My power point and the cable inlet is 900mm from the floor. The cable inlet allows the hdmi cable down to my entertainment unit to be hidden in the wall to give a floating look. My wall-mount bracket is centred 1270mm from the floor. Many people make the mistake of mounting their TVs too high on the wall. My oldish 42inch TV is itself entered about 1200mm from the floor ( since the bracket holds the TV towards the top ). I bought the TV bracket and had the TV so I could work out all heights and measurements and give the details to the electrician. Make sure you also have your wall frame strengthened to take the weight of the bracket and TV. We decided to just leave the power point at floor level for now as we don't have the tv or wall bracket yet so I have no idea where to place anything. I didn't want to put the PowerPoint at 100mm eg and then not be able to get the bracket in the right spot. (Just had to finalize our drawings) ok thanks - yes was wondering if that should have been listed as Option Three! 2 7755 Building Standards; Getting It Right!
