Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Jun 01, 2015 3:41 pm So love the look of the dark bricks particularly with the blue. Got the builder to price the extra amount above the builders allowance on the following bricks we like (our garage is only in them) Mowbray Blue $8000 and Black Steel Flash $2400 So I realise the Mowbray Blue is dry pressed and has the colour all the way thorugh, hence the $$$, but I have read that even though the the Blue Steel Flash is a slurry brick, that it is coated on a darker style brick so it less likely to show damage then some of the darker colours that are on the orange brick. So who out there has the Blue Steel Flash? Has it worn well over time or have you had problems? OR should I really be looking at forking out the extra $6500 and get the Mowbray Blue's? Thanks Re: Calling all blue flash steel brick people! 2Jun 01, 2015 10:31 pm I'm interested in hearing about this too as we will be using blue flash steel on our build. 11/11/13- dep paid 4/4/14- settlement Feb '15- DA app 6/8/15- CC site works begin 19/8/15- Formwork 25/8/15- slab 3/9/15- elect. appt 13/10/15 - frame started 19/10- bricks started 31/10 - roof done Re: Calling all blue flash steel brick people! 3Jun 04, 2015 10:14 pm BSF are beautiful! I wanted but even they were a bit too pricey for us -- we had other priorities Re: Calling all blue flash steel brick people! 4Jun 08, 2015 12:16 pm Love BSF too. We built 6 years years ago with them and would choose them again for our current build but unfortunately our new builder doesn't do PGH. They look beautiful with white mortar and timber. They held up well (I have used a high pressure cleaner on them numerous times, although not at super pressure), we have had no chips, but also had excellent brickies who laid and cleaned them perfectly. The variance in them with the purple, red tones and silver tones is just enough to makes them interesting. You may notice the difference in colour on window ledges and corners where you see the ends of the brick which aren't coated to the same extent.
