Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 22, 2015 9:26 pm So with this weather we are having in Sydney, it is a good time to find all the defects…. Unfortunately for me I have found 3 water leaks in our brand new home….Not happy!! Our relationship with the builder is up sh** Creek, so at this stage he is not willing to come out and fix them… My questions are: 1) Does anyone know any trades person who is reliable that can come out find out where the leaks are coming from and fix them (Sydney -Kellyville area)? 2) I was very tempted to start pulling down the gyprock (ceiling) today and try finding the leaks myself, is this a good idea? Is there a better way? I am 60% sure I know where two out of the 3 leaks are coming from but can't be sure. I don't have a issue with re doing the Gyprock, IMO once the gyprock has seen water it is no good anyway right? Re: Water Leaks 4Apr 23, 2015 8:29 am It seems to me that you need to notify builder of the defect and the urgency required to fix it. If he has not responded you will probably need to engage someone else for repairs and record you costa and expenses then make a claim in the tribunal.
