Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice on gas pressure/energy throughput. We moved into our house December 2013, and for most of last winter the heating was great, but then it started going downhill. Hydronic heating, which worked well when it worked, but would often just "conk out" - after investigation this was found to be caused by insufficient gas pressure @ peak flow. So, I'm now looking at what I can do. SP AusNet tell me that by moving the meter closer to the street it will give me more pressure (also more pressure by putting a newer meter in, current one is ancient by the looks of it).
Question to the forum - can someone explain why moving the meter closer to the street will give me more pressure?
Re piping - it is all new, 63mm on our side of the meter, everyone tells me the problem is between the street and our meter (including the meter itself).
Before I dig up my lawn to run a new pipe, I'd love it if someone could share a story that supported what I'm being told.
Cheers,
Dim
