Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 09, 2015 3:49 pm Hi homeone members Need some assistance on this requirement from my local council. We are doing a KDR in the northern suburbs of Melbourne. We started the building process on 29th January 2015. On 16th March I received from Moreland city council addressed to me as the building owner that I was required to pay a fee of $308 and then call the council depot to make a booking for a council inspector to confirm that the connection has been implemented correctly. " this will usually involve a site inspection prior to backfilling" now the issue is l received the permit along with the invoice too late for the council inspectors to come one site, we were at frame stage. I tried to get in contact my SS regarding this permit and he has said that he has never heard of that type of permit? I then followed up by emailing SS and notifying him I have paid the invoice as it needed to be paid within 7 days and permit is valid from 12 months of issue.anyway I finally had a face to face meeting with our SS last Thursday prior to Easter and l raised it with him, and SS said perhaps ring the council and let them know that all plumbing requirements are being organised by the builder and SS is under the impression that we as the building owners aren't required to pay that permit fee? So now should I ring council to find out where l stand? TIA Mary Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20410 |
