Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Apr 08, 2015 7:47 pm Hey Guys, I'm building a new house and I've been asked some questions about my colour bond roofing, I have the option of 0.42 or 0.48 sheets. It costs about 2k more, my question is wether it is really worth it? And wether it makes a difference in terms of heat, durability or whatever Also i have the option of upgrading for $1200 to the 75mm blanket as opposed to 55mm, is this worth it? will it make much of a difference? Thanks in advance Re: Colorbond roofing questions 2Apr 09, 2015 2:20 pm Going from the thinner sheets to the thicker you won't see much difference for any of those things and for the rest of the life of the house those thinner sheets will be fine. The big advantage is that you can space your battens a little further apart and lower your roof pitch if you so wanted but for most homes that is neither here nor there. The thicker blanket though will certainly help keep your house cooler in summer. not warmer in winter as that is what the ceiling insulation is for. Stewie I plan on installing an undercover walkway (awning ??) from my carport to the back door as shown in sketch. I will be using Boxspan Beams and have no concerns regarding… 0 773 Your house roof does not show rusting other than some surface rust on the flashings. From everyone's experience, what would you install? Timber lapped and capped OR colorbond? Thank you. 0 2890 |
