I wish I had room in my yard for a cat run but its 2.3m x 6m so no chance.
I have been looking at a product which is like fence capping with rollers on it so the cats can't get over the fence. Its a new product, I saw it on The New Inventors. Looks good cause its supposed to blend in with your existing colourbond fence. Re: Cat park 25Jun 24, 2008 4:36 pm natbut That looks really good. Re: Cat park 26Jun 24, 2008 4:55 pm Rachelle Paula I've never seen anything like this! Do they love it? Rachelle, they are still unsure, but I know they will love it. Els That looks great! Do the cats get to run above your clothes line even? Wow! Do they have any protection against the sun too for summer? It will be morning sun only. Currently looking at putting something on the roof to protect against the rain. natbut I have been looking at a product which is like fence capping with rollers on it so the cats can't get over the fence. I saw that when looking at the cat runs, it will work a treat, but make you yard look like fort knox . I have PM'd all those who asked, but I'm sure that I can let everyone know?? Paula Re: Cat park 27Jun 24, 2008 6:37 pm I wish my neighbour (I don't know which one) would get one of these. My backyard seems to be the local sh*tting ground for some feline. He will learn quickly not to hang out in their yards... nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Cat park 30Jun 25, 2008 1:31 am Yep, good post. Our new house is being built in an estate that prohibits outdoor cats (to protect the local flora and fauna). So we have been wondering what a 'cat run' looked like and whether or not our 'babies' would like them - they usually hide under the bed for about two days each time we move, lol.
If you could also pm me the cost details I would appreciate it as I will need to budget for this post move. TIA. 'We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.' - Winston Churchill Re: Cat park 33Jun 25, 2008 8:47 pm I have just bought a ragdoll kitten ( only 3 weeks old so can,t get him until September ) which is an indoor only cat,so when we move to the new house we are going to completely enclose what will be our 'shadehouse' down one side of the house (between the neighbours fence and our house) It will run the length of the house, starting at 2 metres wide and ending up 3 metres at the back....I,m only planting cat friendly plants there and he can have his climbing frame and toys out there.
It,s a great place for it as there,s not much else that we would have used that side of the house for. Cheers Mel Building on 9 acres Re: Cat park 34Jun 25, 2008 9:46 pm Mel,
This is what my husband & I were discussing last night. Inclosing the sideway of the house so our cat can come & go safely. Without affecting neighbours & wildlife. On hot nights if he wants to sleep outside we know he cant go anywhere... nesspop Why am I covered in feathers Re: Cat park 35Jun 26, 2008 9:30 am melanie02 I have just bought a ragdoll kitten ( only 3 weeks old so can,t get him until September Cheers Mel How exciting for you!! They are a beautiful cat, our ragdoll is a bit of a princess though . They say the boys are more affectionate, so hopefully he will give you cuddles whe you want not like ours only when she wants!! Paula Re: Cat park 36Jun 26, 2008 2:47 pm Half your luck. Our pure-bred Burmese likes nothing more than to sit on our laps and get patted, until you touch something she didn't want you to and sinks her little teeth into the soft part of you hand...
She is a bit nuts! But that's what you get with pure-breds I guess... (she is quite pretty though...).
